The Wauseon Wellness Recovery and Support Center's commitment, integrity, stewardship, and resiliency are the core values of who we are. We provide culturally appropriate treatment and recovery services to African and Hispanic American communities in Ohio.
To reduce the incidence and prevalence of violence, drug and alcohol use/abuse and its negative affects among at-risk individuals and families.
The primary purpose of the Lima UMADAOP is to provide culturally appropriate prevention services to African-American and Hispanic/Latino American communities in Ohio. All programming activities are structured to provide a foundation to build and rebuild positive, violence and substance free lifestyles, families and communities.
Lima UMADAOP provides programming with the belief that substance abuse is best prevented and treated when the cultural dynamics of a group are addressed and included in the process of prevention, treatment, recovery and education. Chemical dependency is viewed as an illness of the total person, which has physiological, psychological, social-cultural and spiritual components that require a holistic approach.
The program services that are offered address addiction and related issues, increase vocational skills, manage stressors, develop meaningful links to needed services, and ultimately support lasting recovery. Teaching individuals to take responsibility for their actions; to examine and confront the values, beliefs and attitudes that contribute to those actions; and to develop positive alternatives to destructive environmental factors.
One unique aspect of Wauseon Wellness Behavior Integrated Service Center is it’s a caring, structured place of safety with many clean and sober activities for participants. We provide small meals daily, exercise and work-out for stress reduction, nutrition information, job coaching and computer labs for educational attainment. Priority admission is given to women who are pregnant and persons who are HIV positive. Services are offered at 2 locations.
